My name is Tarah Thommes Galloway-I
am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Registered Art Therapist,
which basically means that I am a psychotherapist who also incorporates art
into the healing process when appropriate. I work primarily with women and
children over the age of seven in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. My work is centered
on helping people recover from mental health issues like PTSD, depression,
anxiety, self-injury, and eating disorders. I’m passionate about helping people
obtain true happiness.
Starting
my business has been in the works for over a year, but it wasn’t until the last
3 months that I really kicked things into gear. Starting a business has been a
real struggle for me because while I was taught to be a great psychotherapist
in graduate school, no one taught me how to open or run a business. Needless to
say, there has been a steep learning curve for me over this past year.
I
would say that so far creating my own business has been my greatest
success. Now I have the freedom to work with clients that truly energize
me. When I feel excited about the work I do, I can then provide phenomenal
services and help people change their lives.
